Subject: Making palette discussions useful at a clothing swap
Message:
I inherited a patterned scarf with a damaged border, and I would like to repair it so I can wear it again. I would rather test carefully than unpick stitches from fragile fabric later. The center is still sound, but the original edging has faded beyond a reliable match. The closest available trims are a subdued green and a noticeably warmer shade of brown. A perfect color match seems impossible, so I am considering a deliberately visible repair. While comparing the options, I came across color analysis because the repaired border will sit close to my face when the scarf is tied. Testing the two trims with pins should be possible without cutting the scarf itself. I want to preserve its character, but I also want to enjoy wearing it. How would you balance harmony with the existing pattern against the effect near the face?
